AXE - wellhead removal tool

Single pass environmental cutting of wellheads during abandonment

Well Ops AXE system is designed specifically for the environmental remove wellheads without the need for a rig or explosives.

Subsea wellhead removal is a growing market with more than 20,000 subsea wellheads installed around the world, many of which have already been abandoned due to the end of production or simply failure to encounter hydrocarbons.

Developed in Australia the AXE rigless, wellhead removal system, integrates with Well Ops other proprietary abandonment solutions and is capable of cutting multi-casing wellheads in a single cut.

The AXE uses an entrained grit, water jet cutting system with only medium pressures of 10,000 to 15,000 psi to cut casings, well conductors, subsea flow lines, umbilicals, piles and all associated subsea infrastructure. It can also be utilised to cut platform well conductors and legs.

With the help of an ROV and a dynamically positioned workboat, the system can operate at depths beyond 100m.

The complete AXE system weighs less than 30t and is relatively compact and easily containerised, so it can be shipped for deployment anywhere in the world.

Well Ops CIT

Rigless subsea cementing and perforation

Well Ops Cement Injection Tool (CIT) is a versatile, reliable and low cost option for cementing and perforating the top hole sections of subsea wells.

The CIT performs three functions in one tool - perforating the first casing, setting a cement plug in the annulus between the first and second casings, and pressure testing the plug. These functions are all achieved in a single deployment, saving considerable time and cost when compared with alternative techniques.

When used with Well Ops propriety Vessel Deployment System (VDS), subsea cementing and perforation work can be performed without the need of rig or specialist intervention vessel.

Well Ops SID

Rigless subsea intervention into live or abandoned wells

Well Ops Subsea Intervention Device (SID) is a modular subsea lubricator that allows rigless intervention into live or abandoned wells.

When deployed with Well Ops propriety Vessel Deployment System (VDS), SID can be operated without a rig or specialist intervention vessel. The low cost, light weight system provides access to subsea wells for various wireline activities and makes scheduled and emergency subsea well intervention immediately practical.

Utilizing the SID system can significantly reduce the risk of production deferment and improve reserves recovery through planned data acquisition, emergency well maintenance. The system is also ideal for safety valve remedial work, well maintenance and repair.

The SID permits rig less intervention into subsea wells for production logging, well diagnostics, gas lift change out, production, well performance and reservoir optimisation and reperforating operations.

Well Ops VDS

Supply vessel deployment of subsea intervention and abandonment equipment

Well Ops Vessel Deployment System (VDS) creates an over stern moon pool work area on typical offshore supply boats or can be used over existing moon pools. The system is specifically designed to allow subsea intervention and abandonment to be conducted from readily available supply boats, instead of purpose built intervention vessels.

The VDS allows the deployment of subsea equipment, guide lines and pod lines. The VDS has several features which set it apart from conventional A-Frames. These include the moon pool area, a heave compensation system, lifted load containment by use of cursor frames and on deck transportation via a skidding system. The VDS is also collapsible for in-gauge road transportation.

The VDS is designed to seamlessly integrate with other Well Ops proprietary systems including AXE, SID and CIT.
